Mick Hughes
APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist | M. Sports Physio
Mick is an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist who has completed both Exercise Science and Physiotherapy degrees.
As a new grad, Mick worked at NQPC for 3 years, and then relocated to Newcastle for 3 years where he worked in a busy sport physio clinic that serviced a large soccer population.
After 3 years in Newcastle, he moved with his wife to Melbourne where he worked at the Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre and was the Head Physio and High Performance Manager of the Collingwood Magpies Netball team in their inaugural season.
After finishing up with Collingwood he focused his attention on his clinical work, specifically treating and managing ACL injuries, where he saw between 20-30 ACL patients per week; ranging from the acutely injured all the way to 10+ years post ACL reconstruction.
On top of having an expertise in ACL injury management, Mick has a strong skillset in all lower limb injuries; including knee pain, chronic tendon pain and soft tissue injuries to the lower limb.
Mick returns to Townsville with his wife and 2 young children and looks forward to helping the community of Townsville and Far North Queensland achieve their goals and improve their function following injury.
